Fuzi Uvtpk Publishes Flash Tattoo Collection N°2
French artist Fuzi Uvtpk is pleased to announce the publication of Flash Tattoo Collection N°2, a limited-edition book that features his Ignorant Style designs. Flash Tattoo Collection N°2 is the follow-up to Flash Tattoo Collection N°1, which was released in 2011 and has since sold out.
Flash Tattoo Collection N°2 is presented in the same format as N°1— it is the same size and has the same number of pages— but features a shiny red cover and 180 new designs that FUZI has made in the past year. The new book showcases Fuzi Uvtpk’s evolution in the past four years, during which time he has had events and exhibitions in cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Paris, London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Moscow, Taipei, and Sydney, and built a high-profile client list that includes people such as Diplo, Os Gemeos and Scarlett Johansson.
Fuzi Uvtpk started tattoing in 2008 as another way to express himself. “I wanted to make tattoes in the same way that I made graffiti,” he explains. “I wanted to convey a feeling of freedom, which is far more important than making something beautiful or perfect.” Many of the designs in Flash Tattoo Collection N°2 reference his past in graffiti (the back cover of the book features a photo from this period), but there is also a significant amount of ironic and fantastical designs (headless mermaids and thug centaurs, for example). There is also a nod to classic tattoo subjects—such as skulls or pinups—but reimagined in his iconic style. “I’m not a tattoo artist,” Fuzi clarifies. “I make art, and tattoing is part of my art.”
